I'm looking to buy some dj equipment and I'm a beginner. What should i look into buying?

Instead of using a cd player to mix the music can you hook up a computer to the mixer? And if so what are some good brands of mixers to do this? Also is there mixers that allow you to scratch like a turntable? And one last question what software should i look into buying for my computer to do this? Sorry so many questions.
